Design And Development Engineer

Die Design: Design progressive dies, compound tools, tB combing / draw tool for

sheet metal manufacturing.

· Technical Drawings: Develop detailed 2D/3D CAD models and production

drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

· NPD & Simulation: Participate in New Product Development, performing

simulations to analyze formability and optimize die performance.

· Tool Development: Collaborate with the tool room team to troubleshoot die

failures, enhance durability, and refine tool life.

· Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records, bill of materials (BOM), and

design documentation.

· Process Improvement: Suggest Design for Manufacturing and Assembly

(DFMA) improvements to enhance production efficiency.

· Develop Jig/Fixtures/Gauge to improve production quality.

· Kaizen activities of continually making small incremental improvements for a

safer, more productive and efficient workplace.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Experience: Typically 5+ years of experience in sheet metal tool design and

manufacturing.

· Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UGNX

(Unigraphics), or Catia.

· Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of GD&T, material properties, and

die-making processes.

· Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Tool & Die Making

preferred.

· Tools: Knowledge of VMC, WIRE-CUT, EDM, and conventional tool room

machines. 

· Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, and Lean Manufacturing standards.

· Experience with sheet metal stamping, progressive tools.
