Electromagnetics Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather detailed motor application requirements, performance targets, and operational constraints. Evaluate existing systems to identify enhancement opportunities.

2. Motor Design & Simulation: Design electric motors (BLDC, PMSM, Induction, etc.) using simulation tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, or similar. Analyse electromagnetic performance, torque, losses, thermal behaviour, and efficiency.

3. Prototype Development & Validation: Support prototype motor builds and validate designs through rigorous testing. Analyse performance against design expectations and refine models accordingly.

4. Instrumentation & Testing: Conduct motor performance evaluations using tools like dynamometers, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, and thermal cameras. Ensure instrument safety, calibration, and recommend appropriate testing equipment as per project needs.

5. Implementation & Integration: Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and firmware teams to integrate motors into complete systems. Support motor tuning, encoder calibration, and EMI/EMC compliance testing.

6. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide hands-on support for resolving motor related issues in prototype and production environments. Troubleshoot anomalies such as excessive heat, noise, vibration, or performance drops.

7. Project Management: Coordinate and track project timelines, resources, and deliverables. Ensure motor development goals are met within schedule and budget constraints, while maintaining high technical standards.

8. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed design documents, test reports, instrument usage logs, and standard operating procedures. Ensure clear and organized documentation for internal use and client reference.

9. Research & Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on advancements in motor technologies, materials, and testing methodologies. Identify and implement opportunities for performance improvement, innovation, and cost reduction.

10. Adaptability: Work across diverse motor platforms and applications such as automotive, drones, robotics, aerospace, and industrial automation. Be flexible to take on new roles and responsibilities as per project and client needs.

11. Compliance & Accountability: Perform tasks assigned by management in a timely manner, while strictly complying with and obeying company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

12. Role Flexibility: Your roles and responsibilities may evolve based on changing business and operational needs. You are expected to demonstrate adaptability and contribute effectively across diverse functions.
