Qualifications for pipefitter

• Minimum 4 years’ experience required in pipe fitting and pipe welding work
• Ability to read design drawings and diagrams is required
• Experience working with a variety of pipe materials and history of certification in welding is preferred
• Cold weather welding experience is preferred
• Must pass a 6G weld certification exam prior to deployment
• SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW welding certificates strongly preferred

• Set up equipment, select torch tip, flux and brazing alloy from data charts or work orders
• Fabricating pipe pools from isometric drawing information
• Fabricating pipe supports from structural drawing information
• Installing prefabricate pipe spools and supports from general arrangement and isometric drawings
• Carrying out all fabrication and installation activities in relation to specific discipline
• Layout, install, test, adjust, and maintain several types of piping systems and allied equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, chemical feed systems, filters
• Perform new installations of plumbing and steam equipment from laying-out, ordering materials, roughing-in, and finishing work
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on a variety of piping systems and allied equipment such as compressors, vacuum pumps, strainers, grease traps, steam traps, meters, regulating valves.
• Previous 6G pipe weld certification at time of hire is required

• You will provide occasional duties as assigned within skill level
• You will assure that each assignment has sufficient tools, materials and supplies
• You will determine repairs and replacements of equipment as needed
• You will prioritize work for specific jobs assigned
• You will be responsible for planning work as assigned, assuring a high quality of the finished product
