Qualification: M.Sc / M.Pharm / B.Tech / M.Tech / Ph.D in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the development of innovative cosmetic formulations (e.g., skin care, hair care, salon professional products).

Oversee trials and optimization of product prototypes based on marketing briefs, safety, and performance targets.

Ensure stability, safety, and efficacy testing are conducted for all new products.

Plan and prioritize R&D projects in alignment with the company’s product pipeline and timelines.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, QA, Production, Regulatory) to ensure timely product launches.

Lead and manage the development of innovative cosmetic formulations (e.g., skin care, hair care, salon professional products).

Supervise and mentor a team of formulation chemists and technicians.

Create a collaborative, innovative, and performance-oriented R&D culture.

Ensure all formulations comply with relevant Indian and international cosmetic regulations (e.g., BIS, FDA).

Maintain complete technical documentation, MSDS, COA, and PIF for all products.

Screen and evaluate new raw materials, actives, and packaging innovations from suppliers.

Stay updated with ingredient trends, green chemistry, and sustainability innovations.

Provide technical support during pilot batches and commercial scale-up in manufacturing.

Troubleshoot formulation and processing issues to ensure consistent product quality.

Skills & Competencies

In-depth knowledge of cosmetic science and formulation chemistry.

Strong understanding of emulsions, surfactants, actives, and preservation systems.

Hands-on experience with lab-scale and pilot-scale equipment.

Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (BIS, ISO 22716, etc.).

Excellent problem-solving, project management, and documentation skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Background

Experience in cosmetic or personal care manufacturing companies or third-party contract manufacturing.

Track record of launching successful products in skincare, hair care, or professional salon segments.

Exposure to clean beauty, natural or organic formulation principles is a plus.
