Job Description

Job Objective:

To drive domestic business growth through strategic lead generation, market penetration, and key account development. The role also includes leveraging online platforms for inbound leads and building a capable sales team to support both current and future international business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:


 Identify and acquire new clients including EPC contractors, industrial users, utilities, and government departments across India.

 Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through outbound efforts, referrals, and participation in relevant exhibitions/trade shows.

 Develop customized commercial and technical proposals in coordination with the engineering team.

 Negotiate and close orders in line with company targets and profit margins.


Online & Digital Lead Generation


 Use platforms like IndiaMART, JustDial, TradeIndia, LinkedIn, and company website inquiries to generate new leads.

 Monitor and optimize response strategy across online listings to maximize conversion.

 Coordinate with the digital marketing team to enhance product visibility and capture inbound leads effectively. 


Market Development & Strategy:

 Conduct detailed market mapping of transformer requirements across target sectors and regions.

 Track tenders, rate contracts, and vendor registrations.

 Prepare and submit required documentation for empanelment with government departments and PSUs.


Client Relationship Management:


 Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and client satisfaction.

 Address technical and commercial queries by aligning with internal teams.

 Visit key clients regularly to understand requirements and offer tailored solutions. 


Team Building & Expansion: 


 Hire, train, and manage junior sales executives or territory managers as the business scales.

 Set clear performance goals and monitor team performance.

 Lead team reviews, field visits, and mentoring initiatives to build a strong sales team for future domestic and international growth.


Future International Business Preparation:


 Gradually expand network in select international markets through export exhibitions, LinkedIn prospecting, and buyer-seller meets.

 Maintain a database of international buyers for medium- to long-term export plans.

 Assist in developing documentation, certifications, and product readiness for export compliance.


Reporting & Coordination:


 Maintain CRM and submit regular reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly) on leads, closures, and performance KPIs.

 Coordinate with design, production, and dispatch departments to ensure timely order execution.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):


 Number of qualified leads generated (online + offline)

 Number and value of orders closed (domestic)

 Timely follow-up and CRM updates

 Expansion and performance of sales team

 Progress on international market development

 Customer satisfaction and retention metrics 


Qualifications & Skills:


Education:

 B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (preferred)

 MBA in Marketing/Sales (added advantage) 


Experience: 

 4–8 years in B2B sales of transformers or allied electrical products.

 Experience with online B2B platforms and lead generation tools.

 Team management or mentoring experience is a plus.


Skills

 Strong understanding of transformer applications and market segments

 Sales negotiation and presentation skills

 Familiarity with CRM systems, MS Office, and online sales platforms

 Self-motivated, strategic thinker, with leadership qualities


Compensation

Industry-standard fixed CTC + Performance-based incentive + Travel/petrol allowance
