About the Role:

We are a well-established family-run retail business in the home décor and home furnishing space, looking for a dependable and experienced Store Manager to take ownership of day-to-day store operations. This role requires a hands-on professional who values long-term relationships, team stability, customer trust, and operational discipline, while driving steady sales growth.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a family business environment, be proactive, responsible, and capable of managing the store as their own.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Take complete responsibility for store sales and achieving defined targets.

2. Lead, guide, and support the sales team to improve conversions and customer satisfaction.

3. Personally handle premium, bulk, and customized home décor and furnishing orders.

4. Build long-term relationships with customers and ensure repeat business.

5. Guide customers on product selection, styling, materials, and functional requirements.

6. Maintain attractive visual merchandising and overall store presentation.

7. Oversee daily store operations including opening, closing, and discipline.

8. Ensure proper inventory planning, stock control, and regular stock audits.

9. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement and deliveries.

10. Handle billing, invoicing, and POS operations responsibly.

11. Maintain daily sales entries, expenses, and bookkeeping in Tally.

12. Manage cash handling, bank deposits, and basic expense tracking.

13. Coordinate with the accounts team for GST records and reconciliations.

14. Prepare simple daily, weekly, and monthly sales and stock reports.

15. Recruit, train, and retain store staff, encouraging loyalty and accountability.

16. Maintain staff discipline, grooming standards, and respectful work culture.

17. Handle customer complaints calmly and ensure proper after-sales support.

18. Assist management with in-store promotions, exhibitions, and events.

19. Ensure adherence to company SOPs, ethics, and safety standards.

20. Act as a trusted link between store staff and business owners.

Qualifications & Certifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).

- Diploma or certification in Retail Management or Sales Management (advantage).

- Tally certification or strong hands-on experience in Tally (mandatory).

- Basic working knowledge of GST and retail accounting preferred.

Experience & Skill Requirements:

- 5–10 years of experience in a similar role within home décor, home furnishing, furniture, or lifestyle retail.

- Experience working in or with a family-run retail business is an added advantage.

- Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and integrity.

- Good communication, people management, and customer-handling skills.

- Ability to multitask and manage operations independently.

- Proficiency in Tally, billing software, MS Excel, and basic reporting tools.

- Candidate must be Surat-based or willing to relocate.
