Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to join our growing supermarket retail chain in Surat. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll and salary calculations, leave management, motivation, compliance, and support of daily retail operations. This position is key to maintaining a productive, satisfied, and efficient workforce across all store locations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Staffing:
- Handle end-to-end recruitment: sourcing, interviewing, onboarding.
- Coordinate with department heads to understand staffing needs.
- Develop job descriptions and post openings on relevant platforms.
- Conduct background checks and employment verifications.
2. Employee Lifecycle Management:
- Manage onboarding and induction programs for new employees.
- Process exit formalities including resignation acceptance, final settlements, and documentation.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation.
3. Performance Management & Motivation:
- Implement appraisal systems and provide support during performance reviews.
- Develop and run employee motivation and engagement programs.
- Conduct regular feedback sessions and resolve grievances professionally.
4. Leave & Attendance Management:
- Approve and manage employee leaves in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain attendance records and ensure accuracy through HR software or biometric systems.
- Monitor absenteeism and take corrective measures when required.
5. Payroll & Salary Administration:
- Calculate salaries, deductions, overtime, and bonuses accurately.
- Coordinate with the accounts department for timely salary disbursement.
- Manage statutory compliance like PF, ESIC, Gratuity, etc.
6. HR Policy & Compliance:
- Ensure company policies are up to date and in compliance with local labor laws.
- Implement and enforce HR policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Conduct regular training sessions on policies and workplace ethics.
7. Store Operations Support:
- Coordinate with store managers to ensure adequate staff coverage.
- Support day-to-day HR operations that align with retail floor needs.
- Monitor staff discipline, hygiene, uniforms, and customer service behavior.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of HR management experience (preferably in retail or FMCG). Fresher Also may applied
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proficient in MS Office and HR software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
