QA / QC Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION – HEAD OF QUALITY (APPAREL INDUSTRY)

Location: Sachin, Surat

Department: Quality Assurance / Production

Reporting To: VP – Operations

Work Week: 6 Days | Timing: 10:00 AM – 06:30 PM

Travel: Frequent domestic & international (India & Bangladesh)

Role Overview

The Head of Quality will oversee all quality assurance and quality control operations across the apparel supply chain—from raw materials to final product dispatch. The role ensures product consistency, compliance with safety standards, and continuous improvement across manufacturing partners while leading multiple QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute the quality strategy for all apparel categories.

* Lead and manage QA teams across factories and vendor locations.

* Define and monitor quality KPIs, SOPs, and inspection processes.

* Ensure quality of fabrics, trims, and raw materials through supplier audits.

* Implement in-line and end-of-line inspections to minimize defects.

* Ensure compliance with REACH, CPSIA, OEKO-TEX, and other regulations.

* Drive defect reduction, RCA, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Collaborate with design, sourcing, merchandising, and production teams.

* Manage audits and maintain certifications such as GOTS and Fair Trade.

* Analyze customer return data to address recurring quality issues.

Qualifications & Experience

* Bachelor’s/Master’s in Fashion Technology or Quality Management (NIFT preferred).

* Certifications in Six Sigma/FIRE preferred.

* 10–12 years of QA experience in garments (innerwear/outerwear).

* Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing, fabric testing, and industry standards.

* Experience handling suppliers, audits, customer complaints, and defect reduction.
