Job Description: Textile Engineer – Fabric Research & Development

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Textile Engineer to join our Research & Development team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing innovative fabrics for the apparel market, experimenting with new yarns, constructions, and processes to create high-quality, commercially viable textile products. This is a research-oriented position requiring strong technical knowledge, creativity, and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

•         Conduct research and trials to develop new fabrics suited for women’s ethnic and contemporary apparel.
•         Analyze and experiment with yarn counts, blends, and fabric constructions to achieve desired aesthetics, performance, and cost targets.
•         Work closely with production teams to optimize fabric quality, reduce defects, and improve performance parameters.
•         Coordinate with vendors, mills, and processing units to source and test new raw materials, finishes, and technologies.
•         Prepare detailed R&D reports, maintain fabric development records, and present findings to management.
•         Monitor industry trends, new technologies, and market demands to propose new fabric concepts.
•         Ensure that all developments align with brand quality standards and compliance norms.

Requirements:-

1.         Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering / Textile Technology from a recognized institute.
2.         Strong knowledge of yarns (counts, blends, twist, specialty yarns), fabrics (woven, knits, constructions), and processing (dyeing, printing, finishing).
3.         Keen interest in innovation, experimentation, and new product development.
4.         Ability to convert technical concepts into workable fabric solutions.
5.         Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
6.         Ability to work independently as well as with design, production, and sourcing teams.
7.         Understanding of current fashion trends and market fabric requirements.
8.         Problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail.
