Job Description

The Construction Equipment Salesman is responsible for promoting and selling construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoe loaders, compactors, and other related equipment. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, developing new customers, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and providing suitable equipment solutions based on customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and develop new customers in construction, infrastructure, mining, and contractor segments.
  • Achieve monthly and yearly sales targets for machines and attachments.
  • Promote company products through field visits, site visits, and demonstrations.
  • Generate inquiries, prepare quotations, and close sales deals.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key accounts.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business.

3. Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding market demand and customer expectations.
  • Identify new business opportunities in the territory.

4. Coordination & Documentation

  • Coordinate with finance for payment collection and documentation.
  • Work closely with service and spare parts teams to ensure after-sales support.
  • Maintain accurate sales reports, pipeline, and customer database.

5. Demonstration & Technical Support

  • Arrange machine demonstrations at customer sites.
  • Explain machine features, benefits, productivity, and ROI to customers.

  • Required Qualifications Diploma / bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Automobile, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years' experience in construction equipment or automobile sales.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Basic technical understanding of heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for field sales.
