Job Title: Manager – Client Acquisition / Business Development

Function: Sales & Client Partnerships

Industry: Recruitment / Talent Solutions

Location: Thane West

Experience: 2–5 years (Recruitment / Staffing preferred)

 

Role Overview

The Manager – Client Acquisition will be responsible for driving new business by identifying potential clients, generating leads, conducting market research, engaging decision-makers, closing mandates, and ensuring successful position closures in coordination with the Operations Director. This role owns the end-to-end client lifecycle from lead generation to mandate closure and revenue realization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition & Business Development

Identify and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, networking, referrals, and market intelligence.

Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline of prospective clients (HR Heads, CXOs, Business Leaders).

Conduct first-level client meetings to understand hiring requirements, role specifications, timelines, and budgets.

Present recruitment solutions, service offerings, and engagement models (retained, exclusive, contingency).

Market Research & Lead Intelligence

Conduct market and account research to identify hiring companies, industry trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities.

Track expansions, leadership changes, funding announcements, and business growth news to generate relevant leads.

Share insights with leadership to support pricing strategy and service positioning.

Mandate Closure & Revenue Ownership

Own mandate closures, including commercials, timelines, SLAs, and engagement terms.

Negotiate fees and finalize client agreements.

Ensure proper handover of mandates post-closure for execution.

Coordination with Operations Director

Work closely with the Operations Director to align on delivery strategy, role feasibility, and prioritization.

Act as the primary point of contact between client and Operations Director during the hiring lifecycle.

Track progress on open positions, manage client expectations, and resolve delivery challenges proactively.

Support offer-stage discussions and ensure timely position closures and billing.

Client Relationship Management

Build long-term client relationships to drive repeat business and account growth.

Maintain strong client satisfaction through regular updates and delivery alignment.

Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling recruitment solutions.

 

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong B2B sales and client acquisition skills

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities

Understanding of recruitment processes and hiring dynamics

Ability to work closely with senior operations leadership

Result-oriented mindset with revenue accountability

Working knowledge of CRM tools, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, MS Excel

 

Preferred Candidate Profile

2–5 years of experience in recruitment sales / staffing / talent solutions

Proven ability to generate leads and close client mandates

Existing HR or business network is a plus
