Supervisor Service Technical Support

Role Purpose

The Chiller SME serves as the technical authority for chiller systems, providing deep expertise across design, commissioning, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and customer support. The role is critical in ensuring reliable, energy‑efficient, and compliant operation of chiller plants across projects and service engagements.

Key Responsibilities 1. Technical Expertise & Ownership

  • Act as the subject matter expert for scroll, screw, VFD screw and centrifugal chillers, heat pumps, cooling towers, and associated chilled water systems.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance to service, commissioning, and project teams on complex chiller‑related issues. 

2. Design Review & Commissioning

  • Lead or support design reviews, installation validation, and commissioning of chiller plants and chilled water systems.
  • Ensure systems meet project specifications, OEM guidelines, and safety standards. 

3. Troubleshooting & Maintenance Support

  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
  • Guide and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs, including RCA and CAPA for recurring failures. 

4. Performance & Energy Optimization

  • Analyze system performance data and recommend energy efficiency improvements.
  • Support implementation of sustainability and optimization initiatives to improve plant reliability and lifecycle cost. 

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate documentation related to:
    • Commissioning records
    • Warranty obligations
    • AMC / CAMC contracts
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and manufacturer recommendations. 

6. Training & Capability Building

  • Develop and deliver technical training modules for engineers and technicians.
  • Mentor junior engineers and field teams on chiller operations, diagnostics, and best practices.

7. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers on:
    • Thermal load management
    • System upgrades
    • Service strategies and long‑term reliability
  • Support customer escalations and critical site interventions. 

Required Skills & Competencies

  • In‑depth knowledge of HVAC chiller systems, CPM and chilled water piping design.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, sensors, and CPM, Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and RCA skills.
  • Effective communication and client‑facing capabilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/ electrical & Electronics or HVAC Technology (preferred).
  • Professional certifications in HVAC / chiller systems are highly desirable. 

Experience

  • Typically, 7–9 years of experience in:
    • Chiller plant design
    • Commissioning
    • Service operations and technical support 

Preferred Experience

  • Hands‑on exposure to CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, and thermal storage systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and upskill teams across zones
