VMC Machine Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented VMC Machine Operator to set up and operate Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines as per job specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMC operations, understanding of engineering drawings, tool settings, and quality checks.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate VMC machines based on technical drawings and instructions

Load raw materials and tools into the machine and ensure proper alignment

Adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, feed, depth of cut) as per job requirements

Monitor machine operation during the production run and make necessary adjustments

Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments like Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.

Perform tool offsetting and basic programming changes (if required)

Ensure that machined parts meet quality and dimensional standards

Maintain a clean and safe work area, and follow safety protocols

Complete production reports and update job logs regularly

Report any machine malfunctions, tool wear, or production issues to the supervisor

Requirements:

ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, Turner, or relevant trade

Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating VMC machines

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and machining symbols

Proficiency in using measuring instruments for inspection

Basic knowledge of CNC programming and tool path understanding

Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to quality

Willingness to work in shifts and meet production deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with different control systems like Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi

Knowledge of G-code, M-code, and basic CNC programming

Exposure to multi-axis machining or tool setting experience
