Zenia Mist Valley is a hospitality property located in the hills of Fagu, offering quality stays, scenic views, and a comfortable guest experience. We are looking for a skilled, disciplined, and creative Chef who can manage the kitchen efficiently and deliver fresh, hygienic, and tasty food consistently.
Role Overview
The Chef will be responsible for the complete kitchen operations at Zenia Mist Valley, including food preparation, menu execution, hygiene standards, stock control, kitchen discipline, and guest satisfaction through quality food.
This role requires someone who is hands-on, dependable, and capable of handling both day-to-day orders and special requirements for hotel guests, group bookings, events, and in-house dining.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Preparation & Service
Prepare and cook meals as per the menu and guest requirements
Ensure food is served fresh, on time, and with consistent quality
Handle breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and room service orders efficiently
Maintain taste, presentation, and portion consistency
2. Menu Execution & Planning
Execute the menu for the hotel and in-house restaurant/cafe
Suggest new dishes, seasonal items, and guest-friendly additions
Prepare suitable menus for regular guests, group stays, corporate bookings, and small events
Understand basic Indian, North Indian, Chinese, tandoor, snacks, and simple continental preparations if required
3. Kitchen Operations
Manage day-to-day kitchen activities independently
Ensure proper preparation before service hours
Maintain smooth coordination with service staff and management
Plan work efficiently to avoid delays during peak timings
4. Hygiene & Cleanliness
Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and food hygiene
Ensure proper storage of raw materials, dairy, vegetables, meat, and cooked food
Keep all utensils, counters, cooking equipment, and kitchen areas clean and organized
Follow hygiene and safety procedures at all times
5. Inventory & Stock Management
Monitor kitchen stock, ingredients, and supplies
Inform management about daily and weekly purchase requirements
Reduce wastage and control food costs
Check quality and freshness of raw materials before use
6. Guest Satisfaction
Prepare food as per guest taste preferences where possible
Handle special requests carefully and professionally
Ensure quality food contributes positively to guest reviews and overall hotel experience
7. Teamwork & Discipline
Coordinate well with hotel staff, housekeeping, and management
Maintain discipline, punctuality, and cleanliness in the workplace
Support smooth operations during busy days, group bookings, or events
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a Chef / Cook / Commis / Hotel Cook / Restaurant Cook
Good knowledge of kitchen operations and food hygiene
Ability to prepare quality Indian and multi-cuisine food
Ability to work independently in a hotel kitchen setup
Good time management and discipline
Honest, reliable, and responsible in day-to-day work
Preferred Candidate Profile
Prior experience in hotel kitchens, resorts, guest houses, cafes, or restaurants
Experience handling breakfast service and regular guest meal orders
Ability to manage kitchen stock and basic costing awareness
Candidates from hospitality backgrounds in hill stations or travel destinations will be preferred
