About the Property
Zenia: Mist Valley, Fagu is a hospitality property located in the scenic hills of Fagu, near Shimla. The property features 17 high-quality rooms with balconies, beautiful valley and Himalayan views, an in-house restaurant, banquet/event potential, and ample parking. We aim to offer guests a peaceful, memorable, and service-driven stay experience for leisure travelers, work-from-hills guests, destination events, and corporate outings.
Position Overview
We are looking for a capable, responsible, and guest-focused Hotel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Zenia: Mist Valley, Fagu. The ideal candidate should be able to manage staff, guest relations, reservations, service standards, property upkeep, and overall business performance while ensuring smooth hotel operations in a hill-station environment.
The Hotel Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hospitality, maximizing occupancy and revenue, ensuring guest satisfaction, and coordinating all operational departments effectively.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overall Hotel Operations
Manage the complete day-to-day functioning of the hotel.
Ensure smooth coordination between front office, housekeeping, kitchen, restaurant, maintenance, and security.
Supervise hotel opening, closing, and operational readiness on a daily basis.
Maintain service standards and brand image in line with Zenia Hospitality.
2. Guest Experience & Front Office
Ensure warm, professional, and efficient guest check-in and check-out.
Handle guest queries, complaints, requests, and special arrangements promptly.
Build a culture of hospitality, courtesy, and problem-solving among staff.
Monitor online reviews and guest feedback and work on improvement areas.
3. Team Management
Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate hotel staff.
Prepare duty rosters and allocate responsibilities efficiently.
Monitor staff discipline, grooming, punctuality, and performance.
Create a positive work culture while ensuring accountability.
4. Reservations & Revenue
Oversee room reservations and inventory management across direct and OTA channels.
Coordinate with reservation and sales teams to maximize occupancy and revenue.
Monitor room rates, packages, seasonal demand, and local competition.
Support special business such as group bookings, destination weddings, corporate stays, and events.
5. Housekeeping & Maintenance
Ensure rooms, public areas, balconies, restaurant, and banquet spaces are clean and well-maintained.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and common areas.
Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of the property.
Ensure linen, amenities, utilities, and basic supplies are adequately stocked.
6. Food & Beverage Coordination
Oversee restaurant operations and ensure quality service and hygiene standards.
Coordinate with kitchen staff for guest meals, breakfast service, events, and room service.
Monitor food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
Assist in planning F&B experiences suitable for the property’s positioning.
7. Events, Banquets & Group Business
Coordinate execution of events, social gatherings, destination functions, and corporate outings.
Ensure event spaces are properly prepared and serviced.
Act as the main point of coordination between operations and event requirements.
8. Financial & Administrative Control
Monitor daily sales, cash handling, expenses, and operational costs.
Prepare basic reports related to occupancy, revenue, guest issues, and expenses.
Maintain vendor coordination and procurement for hotel requirements.
Assist ownership/management with budgeting, planning, and profitability improvements.
9. Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with local laws, hotel policies, and statutory requirements.
Maintain safety, hygiene, and security standards throughout the property.
Be prepared to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
Ensure guest records, staff records, and operational documentation are properly maintained.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in hotel operations, hotel supervision, or hotel management.
Good understanding of front office, housekeeping, guest handling, and F&B coordination.
Strong leadership and team management ability.
Good communication skills in English and Hindi.
Ability to handle pressure, solve problems, and manage guests professionally.
Basic knowledge of OTA bookings, reservation systems, and daily hotel reporting.
Organized, responsible, and operationally hands-on.
Experience in a resort, boutique hotel, hill property, or leisure destination will be preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Someone who is practical, disciplined, honest, and service-oriented.
Comfortable living and working in a hill-station property environment.
Able to independently manage the property and take ownership of results.
Candidate with experience in guest satisfaction, property upkeep, and revenue-minded operations will be preferred.
Education
Graduate in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Relevant work experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
