Job Description - TECHNICIAN

The Technician is responsible for executing all technical tasks, including arranging and installing equipment for

new projects, cabling, and providing maintenance and service. Additionally, the role involves conducting site visits

to assess requirements and ensure the smooth implementation of technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment and Tools Management

o Coordinate with the store in charge for arranging necessary materials for new project installations and

service.

o Ensure timely delivery of equipment to the site, ready for use.

o Maintain all tools in a clean and functional state, ensuring proper lubrication and preventing mishandling.

2. Installation and Cabling

o Perform on-site installations as per project requirements, ensuring proper setup and functionality.

o Conduct cable continuity checks and mark cables appropriately and also document the same.

o Conduct cable continuity checks, ensure proper marking of cables, and complete the documentation.

o Adhere to instructions provided by the site supervisor and maintain proper time management.

o Lay cables, install hardware, and complete all necessary documentation after installation.

3. Service and Maintenance

o Provide on-site servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment to ensure

optimal performance.

o Verify the functionality of all installed equipment before leaving the site.

o Maintain and update reports on a daily basis for tasks completed.

4. ELV Systems Installation and Maintenance

o Install, test, commission, and maintain ELV systems such as Intrusion Systems, VDP, CCTV, Automation,

EPABX, Fire, PA Systems, Biometric Systems, Access Control, and Wi-Fi solutions.

o Wire, terminate, and manage cables for ELV system components.

o Ensure the site requirements are met and work is executed within the due time.

5. Material and Documentation Handling

o Return excess materials to the procurement team with the signature of authorised person at the site.

o Prepare and submit complete installation or service reports, ensuring they are signed by an authorized

person.

o Maintain proper documentation with accurate model numbers and serial numbers.

o Record the office vehicle’s kilometre reading before leaving the office.

6. Safety and Quality Control

o Follow all safety guidelines during installations and site work.

o Maintain high-quality standards in all tasks, adhering to company and industry expectations.

7. Site Visits and Coordination

o Conduct site visits to assess client requirements, including space, equipment, and installation needs.

o Coordinate with the project manager or technical head to ensure all site requirements are addressed.

o Inform work updates to the site supervisor and ensure proper communication.

8. Reporting and Documentation

o Submit daily reports detailing completed tasks.

o Maintain up-to-date documentation for all tasks and reports.

9. Knowledge and Skill Maintenance

o Continuously update knowledge to perform duties safely and efficiently.

o Maintain and properly use tools provided by the company as per site instructions.
