Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced South Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should be proficient in preparing authentic South Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of taste, quality, and presentation. This role requires creativity, time management, and strong knowledge of traditional South Indian cuisines.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, cook, and present authentic South Indian dishes such as idli, dosa, vada, sambar, chutneys, meals, biryani, and other regional specialties.
  • Develop new South Indian recipes and menu items as per customer preference and seasonal availability.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portion, and presentation across all dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen in line with FSSAI standards.
  • Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering ingredients as needed.
  • Ensure proper storage of food items to avoid spoilage and maintain freshness.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Manage cooking schedules to meet customer demand during peak hours.
  • Maintain safety protocols, including proper handling of kitchen equipment.
  • Required Qualifications & SkillsProven experience as a South Indian Chef or Cook (minimum 3+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of traditional South Indian cuisines (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra/Telangana).
  • Ability to prepare vegetarian and non-vegetarian South Indian dishes.
  • Good understanding of spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques specific to South India.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders efficiently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, safety standards, and food handling procedures.
  • Preferred Attributes Culinary certification or diploma is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering environments.
  • Creativity in developing new dishes and improving existing recipes.
