Shift Incharge

The Shift In-Charge – Captive Power Plant is responsible for smooth and safe operation of boiler, turbine, and auxiliary systems during the assigned shift. He ensures uninterrupted power and steam supply to the plant while maintaining safety, efficiency, and compliance standards.

Qualification:

Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

Boiler Operation Certificate (Mandatory if required by state rules)

1. Operations ManagementEnsure continuous operation of Boiler, Turbine, Generator & Auxiliary Systems

• Monitor steam pressure, temperature, load, and fuel consumption
• Maintain required power generation as per plant demand
• Coordinate with production department for load management
• Handle start-up and shutdown procedures safely

2️⃣ Team SupervisionLead and supervise CPP operators, field operators, and helpers

• Allocate shift duties and ensure proper handover between shifts
• Train junior staff on safety and operational procedures

3️⃣ Safety & ComplianceEnsure strict adherence to boiler safety norms

• Follow pollution control and emission guidelines
• Maintain log sheets and shift reports properly
• Report breakdowns, abnormalities, and accidents immediately

4️⃣ Maintenance CoordinationInform maintenance team in case of equipment abnormalities

• Coordinate during preventive and breakdown maintenance
• Ensure proper lubrication and inspection of equipment

5️⃣ Documentation & ReportingMaintain shift logbook and generation reports

• Monitor fuel consumption and efficiency parameters
• Record downtime and operational deviations

Experience:5–10 years experience in Captive Power Plant / Thermal Power Plant

• Experience in handling:
• AFBC / CFBC / FBC Boiler
• Steam Turbine Generator
• Coal / Biomass based plant

Rotational Shift (8/hours as per company policy)
