Telecom FRT Helper

The Telecom Labour / FRT Helper is responsible for providing field-level support to the Fault Repair Team (FRT) and FTTH technicians in installation, maintenance, and restoration of fiber optic cable (OFC) networks. The role involves physical outdoor work to ensure uninterrupted telecom and broadband services.

• Key Responsibilities:Assist technicians in digging trenches for laying fiber optic cables.
• Support cable pulling, routing, and clipping on poles or buildings.
• Assist in mounting joint closures, distribution boxes, and termination boxes.
• Provide support during fiber fault repairs and emergency restorations.
• Carry tools, cables, joint closures, and other materials to work sites.
• Maintain safety at roadside work locations using warning cones and reflectors.
• Help in cleaning fiber cables and preparing work areas before splicing.
• Support ladder handling during pole work.
• Follow safety instructions and company work procedures at all times.
• Be available for emergency and night fault repair duties when required.
• Other Specific Requirements:Physically fit and capable of handling manual labor work.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Basic understanding of telecom or cable work (preferred but not mandatory).
• Ability to travel within assigned district or project area.
• Discipline, teamwork, and ability to follow supervisor instructions.
• Basic literacy (8th Pass / SSLC preferred).
