Role Overview

The Deputy Manager Engineer / Senior Engineer will oversee engineering operations in a built-to-print manufacturing environment. This role requires expertise in Bill of Materials (BOM) management, process definition, time estimation, customer communication, and SAP MM integration for BOM routing. The position also involves leading a small team to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and quality-driven product realization.

Key Responsibilities

• BOM Management: Prepare, validate, and maintain Bills of Materials for customer-specified designs; ensure accuracy and completeness in SAP MM.
• Process Definition & Time Estimation: Define manufacturing processes, calculate cycle times, and optimize for efficiency, cost, and quality.
• Customer Communication: Serve as the technical point of contact for customers; clarify requirements, resolve queries, and provide updates.
• SAP MM & Routing: Create and manage BOM routings in SAP MM; ensure compliance with ERP workflows and data integrity.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 5–10 engineers/technicians; allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure delivery milestones.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams; support vendor interactions and ensure smooth handover to manufacturing.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of BOM creation, validation, and management.
• Expertise in process definition and time calculation for manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MM, especially BOM routing.
• Excellent customer communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead small teams and drive performance.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing standards, quality systems, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / production / industrial engineering (or equivalent).
• 6–10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in built-to-print environments.
• Prior experience in team leadership roles.
• SAP MM certification or hands-on ERP experience is a plus.
