Vendor Management Executive

Job SummaryThe Vendor Management Executive – Transportation is responsible for managing transportation vendors, fleet operators, logistics partners, and service providers to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods or passengers. The role focuses on vendor performance, contract compliance, cost control, and service quality.

• Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, evaluate, onboard, and manage transportation vendors and fleet partners
• Negotiate transportation contracts, freight rates, SLAs, and payment terms
• Monitor vendor performance on delivery timelines, vehicle availability, safety, and service quality
• Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with operations, planning, and finance teams for smooth transportation execution
• Handle vendor escalations related to delays, damages, breakdowns, or service failures
• Track freight costs, fuel surcharges, and transportation spend
• Conduct periodic vendor audits, reviews, and performance scorecards
• Manage contract renewals, terminations, and vendor improvement plans
• Maintain accurate vendor records, fleet documentation, and compliance certificates

• Good communication and coordination abilities
• QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
• 2–6 years of experience in transportation vendor management, logistics, or fleet operations
• Familiarity with local transportation regulations and compliance norms
• Preferred AttributesExperience with third-party logistics (3PL), fleet aggregators, or transport unions
• Knowledge of route planning, fuel management, and cost optimization
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment
