Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and result-oriented Sales Engineer to strengthen our field sales operations. The role primarily involves field visits for product promotion, lead generation, and order closure across academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and laboratories. The candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, building long-term customer relationships, and representing Ohmetron’s product portfolio in the assigned territory.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Sales & Business Development. Conduct regular field visits to academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, pathology labs, and research centers.
  • Promote Ohmetron products including laboratory instruments, equipment, and consumables.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop potential customers within the assigned territory.
  • Generate enquiries, prepare basic techno-commercial discussions, and follow up to convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets as assigned by management.
  • Customer Relationship Management, build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers such as professors, lab managers, QA/QC heads, purchase managers, and administrators.
  • Address customer queries related to product features, applications, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales coordination, service, and accounts) for smooth order execution and post-sales support.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting Collect market feedback, competitor activity, and customer requirements, and report the same to management.
  • Maintain daily field visit reports, enquiry status, and sales pipeline updates.
  • Support management in forecasting demand and planning promotional activities.


Demonstrations & Promotions:

Assist in product demonstrations, trials, and technical discussions at customer sites.

  • Support participation in exhibitions, seminars, workshops, and institutional visits for brand promotion.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Qualification Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, or a related technical field.
  • 1–4 years of experience in field sales of laboratory instruments, scientific equipment, or related B2C technical sales (freshers with strong aptitude may also be considered).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory instruments and applications (training will be provided).
  • Ability to negotiate, close sales, and manage customer expectations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, email, CRM tools).


Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience dealing with pharmaceutical QA/QC, R&D labs, or academic institutions.
  • Valid two-wheeler driving license.
  • Local market knowledge of Gujarat (preferred).
