Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Field Sales Engineer to drive the sales of sensors, vision systems, and industrial sensor solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging with new and existing customers, understanding their technical needs, and providing innovative solutions to enhance their operations. This role requires a blend of sales acumen, technical expertise, and strong communication skills to build lasting customer relationships while meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify new business opportunities in the industrial automation, robotics, and manufacturing sectors for sensor technologies and vision systems.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive outreach, relationship-building, and networking.
  • Drive revenue growth by understanding customer requirements and offering tailored solutions to meet those needs.
  • Provide technical sales support and product demonstrations to showcase the value and capabilities of sensor and vision systems solutions.
  • Prepare and present customized proposals, quotations, and product demonstrations for customers.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close sales while ensuring profitability for the company.

Technical Consultation:

  • Understand customer applications and propose the most suitable sensor and vision system solutions, addressing specific technical requirements.
  • Offer detailed technical explanations of products, integrations, and applications, ensuring customers fully understand the capabilities and advantages of the solutions.
  • Conduct on-site visits for system installations, configuration, testing, and support.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers to become their trusted advisor on sensor and vision system technologies.
  • Regularly visit customers to assess their needs and ensure ongoing satisfaction with products and services.
  • Provide exceptional post-sale support, including troubleshooting, product upgrades, and system improvements.
  • Handle customer inquiries, issues, and technical concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  1. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
  • Work closely with engineering, product management, and customer support teams to ensure customer needs are met and feedback is communicated.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to provide customer insights and support promotional activities.
  • Partner with technical support staff to resolve complex customer challenges and ensure proper installation and integration of products.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Track sales activities, forecast opportunities, and provide regular updates to management on sales performance, market conditions, and customer feedback.
  • Identify potential gaps in the market and work with internal teams to develop new solutions or applications to address customer needs.

Training and Product Knowledge:

  • Continuously expand technical knowledge of sensor technologies, vision systems, and industrial applications to effectively sell and support products.
  • Participate in training sessions, seminars, and product workshops to stay current with new product features, industry standards, and sales techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales, particularly in industrial automation, sensors, vision systems, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of sensors (e.g., proximity, temperature, pressure) and vision systems (e.g., machine vision, image processing).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical clients.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships and manage multiple sales opportunities.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales tools.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with integration of vision systems and sensors into automated production processes.
  • Technical certifications in relevant fields or systems ( sensor technologies).
