QA/QC Engineer

The job role for a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer in the heavy equipment industry involves ensuring that all products, from raw materials to final assembly, meet rigorous safety, performance, and regulatory standards. This professional combines engineering expertise with quality management principles to prevent defects and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing process. 

The responsibilities of a QA engineer in the heavy equipment sector are hands-on and process-oriented: 

• Develop Quality Systems: Design, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and specific quality control plans (QCPs), inspection, and test plans (ITPs).
• Inspections and Audits: Conduct routine inspections, process audits, and internal reviews of production lines and materials to identify deviations from standards. This includes auditing suppliers to ensure incoming components meet specifications.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on malfunctions, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain meticulous documentation for traceability and compliance.
• Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Investigate production issues, defects, and field failures using structured problem-solving tools like FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), 5 Whys, and 8D methodologies to identify the root cause and implement robust solutions.
