Job Description
- 1. Bookkeeping and Financial RecordsMaintain accurate records of daily transactions, sales, and purchases.
- Record receipts, payments, and all financial transactions in accounting software or ledgers.
- 2. Cash Flow ManagementMonitor cash flow to ensure the shop has enough liquidity to cover expenses.
- Reconcile daily sales with cash and card payments.
- 3. Inventory and Cost ControlKeep track of inventory levels, including restocking and adjusting for damaged or unsold goods.
- Calculate cost of goods sold (COGS) to determine profitability.
- 4. PayrollProcess employee salaries, commissions, and other benefits.
- Deduct and remit taxes, insurance, and other statutory contributions.
- 5. Tax ComplianceEnsure the shop is compliant with local tax regulations (sales tax, VAT, etc.).
- Prepare and file tax returns on time to avoid penalties.
- 6. Financial ReportingPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (profit & loss statements, balance sheets).
- Provide insights on the financial health of the business.
- 7. Budgeting and ForecastingDevelop budgets and track actual spending to ensure the shop stays within financial limits.
- Forecast future sales, expenses, and profitability.
- 8. Audit and ComplianceAssist with internal or external audits by providing necessary financial documents and reports.
- Ensure all transactions are compliant with accounting principles and regulations.
- 9. Customer InvoicingGenerate invoices for customers for large purchases or services.
- Follow up on overdue payments and maintain a record of customer debts.
- 10. Vendor and Supplier ManagementManage accounts payable for goods or services bought from suppliers.
- Ensure timely payments to avoid disruptions in supply.
