Job Description (JD)

Job Title: Factory Manager / Production Operations Manager

Location: Dahisar, Mumbai

Department: Operations / Manufacturing

Reports To: Directors / Top Management

Role Summary: The Factory Manager will oversee all daily manufacturing, production, and operational activities at the Dahisar facility. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical engineering requirements and efficient floor management, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production & Operations Management:

 * Oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process of electronic instruments, controllers, and panels.

 * Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to meet sales and dispatch targets.

 * Monitor production bottlenecks and optimize workflow on the assembly lines (PCB assembly, soldering, testing, and final packaging).

 * Ensure optimal utilization of machinery, testing equipment, and manpower.

2. Quality Control & Testing:

 * Implement and enforce strict quality assurance protocols at all stages of production (Inward, In-process, and Final QC).

 * Troubleshoot complex technical issues in electrical/electronic circuitry when escalated by the testing team.

 * Ensure all products meet required industry standards (e.g., ISO certifications, CE marks) and internal specifications.

3. Team Leadership & Manpower Management:

 * Lead, mentor, and motivate a cross-functional team of production engineers, supervisors, technicians, and assembly line workers.

 * Manage shift schedules, attendance, leaves, and overall shop-floor discipline.

 * Identify training needs and conduct regular skill-upgradation sessions for technical staff.

4. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:

 * Coordinate with the procurement and stores departments to ensure a continuous supply of electronic components, PCBs, and mechanical parts.

 * Maintain optimum inventory levels to prevent stock-outs or overstocking (knowledge of Just-In-Time or lean inventory is a plus).

5. Process Improvement & Safety:

 * Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing) to reduce wastage, cycle times, and operational costs.

 * Ensure strict compliance with industrial safety protocols and environmental regulations at the Dahisar works.

 * Oversee routine and preventive maintenance of plant machinery and testing setups.

Job Specification (JS)

This section outlines the specific qualifications, experience, and skills the ideal candidate must possess.

Educational Qualifications:

 * Mandatory: B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics & Telecommunication (EXTC).

 * Preferred: Additional certifications or degrees in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Lean Manufacturing.

Experience Requirements:

 * Total Experience: 5+ years in the manufacturing sector.

 * Relevant Experience: At least 5+ years in a Factory Manager, or Senior Production Manager role, specifically within an electrical/electronics manufacturing environment (e.g., industrial automation, instrumentation, control panels).

Core Competencies & Technical Skills:

 * Strong understanding of electronic component assembly (Through-hole and SMD), PCB manufacturing processes, and wiring/panel building.

 * Familiarity with electronic testing equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, calibrators) and testing methodologies.

 * Proficiency in using ERP/MRP software for production planning and inventory management.

 * Knowledge of statutory compliances related to factory operations in Maharashtra.

Soft Skills & Attributes:

 * Leadership: Strong authoritative yet empathetic leadership style to manage diverse blue-collar and white-collar teams.

 * Problem-Solving: Quick, analytical thinker capable of resolving technical and operational emergencies on the shop floor.

 * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in Marathi, Hindi, and English to effectively communicate with the local workforce and top management.
