Head Chef

Core responsibilities

• Menu development and execution: Create and update menus, focusing on authentic Neapolitan pizza using traditional methods and high-quality ingredients.
• Food preparation: Prepare and stretch Neapolitan pizza dough, make sauces and toppings, and expertly cook pizzas in a wood-fired oven.
• Kitchen management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, manage inventory, and coordinate with staff for ingredient replenishment.
• Quality control: Ensure all pizzas are visually stunning, consistent in quality, and meet the restaurant's standards before they are served.
• Team leadership: Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Health and safety: Uphold rigorous standards for hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas.
• Budget and waste management: Contribute to strategic development and budgetary control, and minimize kitchen waste. 

Key skills and qualifications

• Proven experience as a pizza chef, with a strong preference for Neapolitan pizza and wood-fired ovens.
• Expertise in dough fermentation and shaping techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Good understanding of food chemistry, particularly related to dough.
• Ability to work long hours and manage a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Italian cuisine and high-quality ingredients.
