Job Description
Position SummaryThe Head Chef oversees all kitchen operations and leads the culinary team to deliver high-quality, consistent dishes across a variety of cuisines. This role requires strong leadership, creativity, and hands-on cooking skills, ensuring that all meals meet the establishment’s standards for taste, presentation, and safety.
- Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & ManagementSupervise, train, and motivate all kitchen staff
- Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during peak periods
- Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining workflow and efficiency
- Menu Planning & Food PreparationDesign, update, and cost menus with a focus on all-round cooking capability
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes across multiple culinary styles
- Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation
- Kitchen OperationsMonitor food inventory, order supplies, and manage stock rotation
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the kitchen
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Oversee equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs when needed
- Quality Control & StandardsConduct regular taste tests and quality checks
- Ensure portion control, waste reduction, and cost efficiency
- Implement kitchen policies, standards, and best practices
- CollaborationWork closely with management to plan specials, events, and seasonal menus
- Communicate effectively with service staff to ensure smooth operations
- Support positive customer experiences through consistent culinary excellence
