Quality Control Engineer

Job Summary:

The QC Engineer/Executive will be responsible for meeting quality standards of bought out items and parts manufactured in house to meet quality standards of the end product. His/ her role involves inspecting, testing, and monitoring production processes and materials, identifying defects or deviations, and implementing corrective actions to maintain high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Conduct in-process quality checks during manufacturing and assembly stages.
• Must have hands on experience of using instruments like callipers, micrometres, gauges, and CMM machine.
• Coordinate with production and design teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Prepare and maintain reports, including NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and inspection logs.
• Assist in internal and external quality audits.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 or other relevant quality certifications.
• Train production staff on basic quality standards and procedures and reduce rework.
• Work towards FTR ( First time right) concept

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of quality standards in industrial machinery manufacturing.
• Proficient in using measuring and inspection instruements.
• Understanding of mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Good documentation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) to meet 9001 standards.
•  Must be aware of 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, etc.

Education & Experience:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Quality Control within industrial machinery or heavy engineering industry.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015 and other quality standards preferred.
