Job Description – Solar Design Engineer (Min. 2 Years Experience preferred)

Position: Solar Design Engineer

Experience: Minimum 2 years

Location: Mumbai

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare solar PV system designs for residential & commercial projects.
• Create PV array layout, string layout, SLD, AC/DC cable routing, earthing, lightning protection drawings using AutoCAD.
• Perform structural analysis & design of mounting structures using STAAD Pro.
• Run complete energy simulation studies using PVSyst (PR calculation, shading, losses).
• Develop 3D layouts & structure models using SketchUp.
• Work with SCADA for monitoring
• Data points mapping (inverter, energy meter, weather station)
• Basic communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP)
• Understanding of monitoring architecture
• Prepare BOM, BOQ, technical documentation, and support the execution team.
• Coordinate with survey team & follow relevant IS/IEC standards.

Required Skills:

• Strong practical knowledge of:
• AutoCAD
• STAAD Pro
• PVSyst
• SketchUp
• SCADA (setup and real time monitoring of solar plant)
• Good understanding of electrical/structural solar design.
• Ability to read technical drawings & site plans.

Qualifications:

• Diploma/B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in solar design (rooftop or ground-mount).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with utility-scale solar design.
• Knowledge of CFD / wind load analysis.
• Experience in advanced SCADA systems or PLC integration.
