Job Title: Sand Casting / Metal Casting Supervisor

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Sand Casting / Metal Casting Supervisor to manage foundry operations related to mould preparation, melting, and casting of iron components. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality production, minimizing defects, and maintaining safety standards in the foundry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise sand moulding operations (green sand / CO₂ / resin sand as applicable)
• Oversee melting of iron (cast iron/SG iron) in furnace
• Monitor metal temperature, composition, and pouring process
• Ensure proper mould preparation, core setting, and closing
• Control casting defects such as blowholes, shrinkage, cracks, and sand inclusion
• Coordinate with pattern shop, melting team, and finishing team
• Maintain production targets and daily reports
• Ensure proper reclamation and usage of materials
• Implement and monitor safety practices in high-temperature areas
• Train workers and supervise shop floor activities

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of sand casting techniques and moulding methods
• Experience in metal casting (iron / Bross and other metals)
• Understanding of furnace operations (induction or cupola)
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot casting defects
• Knowledge of raw materials, binders, and additives
• Familiarity with quality standards and inspection methods

Education:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Foundry / Metallurgy (preferred)

Experience:

• 3–7 years in sand casting / iron or metal foundry operations
• Junior roles can be offered to ITI freshers with training

Work Environment:

• factory setup
• Exposure to heat, dust, and heavy machinery
• Shift-based operations
