Senior Accountant

The accountant will play a key role in managing the financial health of the clothing retail business. This position involves tracking financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The accountant will collaborate with other departments to support operational efficiency.

Financial Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Record daily transactions such as sales, payments, and returns using Tally accounting software
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts on a regular basis.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices to suppliers and vendors.
• Process customer payments, track receivables, and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Ensure the proper recording of all transactions and maintain documentation for auditing purposes.

Inventory Management Support:

• Analyze inventory reports and ensure accurate financial reflection of stock purchases and sales.

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT/GST, income tax, sales tax) in accordance with local regulations.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and compliance with all tax laws.
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and advise the business on tax-saving strategies.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
