Senior Engineer

The Senior Bridge Engineer is responsible for leading the execution, and supervision of bridge construction projects, ensuring technical excellence, quality, adherence to standards, and compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Execution & Supervision:

  - Supervise bridge construction activities (foundation, substructure, superstructure, bearings, expansion joints, Girder Launching etc.).

  - Ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedule.

  - Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and stakeholders for execution planning, material procurement, and progress monitoring.

  - Conduct daily works with quality checks, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

2. Quality Control & Assurance:

  - Implement quality assurance plans for bridge works (materials, workmanship, dimensions, etc.).

  - Review and approve test reports, material certifications, and inspection reports.

  - Ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., IRC, MORTH specifications).

3. Team Management & Coordination:

  - Lead and mentor junior engineers, site engineers, and drafting staff.

  - Coordinate with surveyors, contractors, client representatives, and other stakeholders.

  - Conduct technical reviews, progress meetings, and ensure effective communication.

4. Documentation & Reporting:

  - Prepare and review technical reports (progress, quality, design changes, etc.).

  - Maintain project documents (drawings, specifications, meeting minutes, inspection reports, etc.).

  - Ensure as-built drawings and documentation are accurately prepared and handed over.

5. Problem Solving & Innovation:

  - Address technical challenges, propose solutions, and manage design or construction modifications (with approvals).

  - Identify opportunities for value engineering, cost optimization, and schedule improvements.

6. Compliance & Safety:

  - Ensure bridge construction activities comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and statutory requirements.

  - Collaborate with the safety team for site-specific safety plans and monitor implementation.

7. Project Deliverables & Timelines:

  - Ensure bridge construction milestones are met as per project schedule.

  - Review and approve contractor’s work programs, method statements, and resource plans.

  - Manage project budget related to bridge works and propose cost-saving measures.
