Machine Operator – Pipe Cutting (Fabrication)

Job Summary:

The Machine Operator – Pipe Cutting is responsible for operating cutting machines to fabricate metal pipes used in electric vehicle structures and components. The role involves ensuring precision cutting, maintaining quality standards, and supporting production efficiency in the EV manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate pipe cutting machines (CNC/automatic/manual) as per production requirements
• Perform accurate cutting of metal pipes (MS, SS, aluminum, etc.) based on drawings and specifications
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Ensure proper measurement, alignment, and finishing of cut materials
• Conduct routine machine setup, adjustments, and basic maintenance
• Monitor machine performance and report any faults or breakdowns
• Maintain quality standards and minimize material wastage
• Follow safety guidelines and ensure safe working practices
• Coordinate with fabrication and welding teams for smooth workflow
• Maintain production records and daily reports

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Fabrication, or related field
• 1–3 years of experience in pipe cutting or fabrication (EV/automobile industry preferred)
• Knowledge of cutting machines (band saw, laser cutting, plasma cutting, etc.)
• Basic understanding of measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, etc.)
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in Electric Vehicle (EV) or automobile manufacturing industry
• Familiarity with CNC cutting machines and automated fabrication processes
