Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Publications Engineer to join our Aerospace Technical Publications team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with authors, illustrators, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation for aircraft components and systems.

You will play a critical role in ensuring documentation complies with ATA, iSpec 2200, and S1000D standards, delivering accurate, structured, and user-friendly publications that support aircraft maintenance and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create and revise Service Bulletins (SBs), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), and CMPs for aircraft components and systems.

• Author and proofread technical publications in compliance with ATA100, iSpec 2200, and S1000D standards.

• Collaborate with engineering, illustration, and product teams to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy.

• Interpret engineering drawings, change drivers, and technical inputs such as Service Bulletins, Service Letters, ECNs, TRs, SILs, and ATPs.

• Develop and implement best practices to improve documentation quality, consistency, and productivity.

• Plan, track, and manage documentation projects to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high attention to detail even under tight schedules.

• Utilize Common Source Database (CSDB) environments for structured documentation development.

• Ensure compliance with ASD Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE) standards where applicable.

• Work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

• Adobe FrameMaker

• Arbortext Epic Editor

• Common Source Database (CSDB)

• PLM tools (Teamcenter)

• Isodraw 7.3 or other technical illustration tools (preferred)

Qualifications you should have:​

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.

• 4–8 years of experience in technical publications within the aerospace industry.

Hands-on experience authoring or proofreading:

• Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs)

• Service Bulletins (SBs)

• S1000D Data Modules

Skills We Prefer:

• Strong technical writing and proofreading skills.

• Solid understanding of aerospace documentation standards (ATA100, iSpec 2200, S1000D).

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical change notices.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

• Strong project planning, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.

• High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality documentation.
