ROLE - Area Sales Manager (ASM)
About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in a specific area or location. As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of Assistant Area Sales Managers and Territory Sales Managers, driving sales targets, and expanding market presence within the assigned area. The ideal candidate will have strong team management skills, a solid understanding of sales processes, and a proven track record of achieving sales goals. This role requires travel within the assigned area and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Job Description:-
Sales Team Leadership:
● Lead and manage a team of Assistant Area Sales Managers and Territory Sales Managers within the assigned area.
● Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and support to drive individual and team success.
● Build a high-performing sales team by recruiting, training, and developing talent.
● Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and knowledge sharing among team members.
● Provide guidance and support in handling complex sales situations and negotiations.
● Monitor sales activities, analyze performance data, and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
● Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the assigned area, aligned with overall organizational objectives.
● Identify market opportunities, potential customers, and emerging trends to drive sales growth.
● Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to recommend sales and marketing strategies.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing and product management, to align strategies and drive business success.
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and retention.
● Conduct regular business reviews and sales forecasts to track progress and make data-driven decisions.
Territory Management:
● Define sales territories and allocate resources effectively to maximize sales coverage and customer reach.
● Provide guidance and support to Territory Sales Managers in managing their respective territories.
● Monitor territory performance, identify areas of improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
● Collaborate with Territory Sales Managers to develop and execute strategic plans for their territories.
Sales Reporting and Analysis:
● Generate regular sales reports, including sales forecasts, performance dashboards, and market analysis.
● Analyze sales data and market trends to identify insights and opportunities for improvement.
● Use data-driven insights to develop sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional activities.
Mandatory requirements for this position
● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in a leadership role.
● Strong understanding of sales processes, strategies, and techniques.
● Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
● Experience in team management, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and sales forecasting.
● Ability to travel within the assigned area as required.
● Result-oriented mindset, with a passion for driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
● A valid driver’s license(DL) with a two-wheeler/four-wheeler as this role requires you to be on the field.
● Geographical knowledge of the job location is an added advantage.
