Job Description
In a **maintenance role**, a **Fire Technician** is responsible for ensuring that all fire safety systems and equipment are in optimal working condition to prevent fire hazards and protect occupants. Here are the key responsibilities specific to **maintenance**:
### 1. **Regular Inspections of Fire Safety Equipment:**
- Conduct routine inspections of fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, emergency lighting, and other fire protection systems.
- Check for signs of wear, corrosion, leakage, or malfunction in fire equipment and take corrective actions.
### 2. **Testing Fire Alarm and Detection Systems:**
- Perform regular functional testing of fire alarm systems, including smoke and heat detectors, to ensure they are working as designed.
- Test control panels, alarm signals, and communication systems to confirm they will function properly during emergencies.
### 3. **Servicing and Preventive Maintenance:**
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out components in fire suppression systems, sprinklers, and extinguishers.
- Schedule and conduct regular maintenance checks according to manufacturer guidelines and fire safety regulations.
### 4. **Repairs and Replacement of Equipment:**

### 9. **Emergency Lighting and Evacuation Systems Maintenance:**
