Principal Consultant - Cloud Operations Engineer AWS/Azure

Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant - Cloud Operations Engineer AWS/Azure
In this role, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and enhancing cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS and Azure platforms. You will ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of cloud environments while working closely with development, security, and operations teams. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and operational best practices.
Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments in AWS and Azure.
• Optimize cloud resources to ensure cost efficiency and high performance.
• Perform regular system monitoring and maintenance, including the configuration of alerting and monitoring tools.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Automate repetitive tasks and processes using scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Implement and maintain security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within cloud operations.
• Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and provide recommendations for their adoption.
• Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Respond to and resolve cloud-related incidents and problems.
• Implement and manage monitoring solutions to track system performance and availability.
• Generate and analyze reports on system performance, usage, and security.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant professional training are a plus.
• Experience in system administration, with cloud operations & DevOps.
• Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, etc.) and Azure services (VMs, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, etc.).
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud setups.
• Knowledge of database management systems and data backup/recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of network configurations, firewalls, VPN, and load balancers in a cloud environment.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and self-motivated attitude towards achieving project goals.
