Key job responsibilities
The right candidate will enjoy finding solutions to hard problems, possess a strong technical program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading large programs with a well-rounded technical background in software development and cloud infrastructure. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM in Alexa, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
A day in the life
As a Senior Technical Program Manager in AVS team, you will implement mechanisms to ensure high quality and predictable software releases for the AVS team. You will help engineering teams look around the corners and create plans to de-risk important software releases. You will own the product release schedule for key OEM partners using AVS.
You will lead quarterly business reviews with AVS partner OEMs. You will partner with design, engineering, business development, solutions architecture, and finance leaders to support build roadmap(s) . Partner with customers and OEM partners to provide them with APIs or device specs to build the NorthStar Alexa built-in experiences for Smart TVs, Speakers and more device form factors.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager (Tech) to`support multiple high profile features in one of our fastest growing categories. Our vision is for Alexa to become an integral part of helping customers in daily life. We’re looking for a leader with excellent judgment, strong operating skills, and a passion for building engagement with content and software features. You will be responsible for the assist in development and management of products and experiences, including all aspects of the customer experience, conducting experiments and iterating to ensure high customer satisfaction. You will own understanding the behavior and needs of your customers, and you will lead cross-org teams to invent new ways to meet those needs. You will use customer data to define and build products, features, and offerings that deeply integrate hardware, software, and services. You will help create and drive the strategy, vision, and roadmap, with a high degree of ownership over critical features and the customer experience. We are looking for someone customer obsessed and technology savvy, with a passion for consumer devices and AI.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
