Roles and Responsibilities of a Desktop Support Engineer

1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

• Provide first and second-line support for desktop systems, software, and hardware.
• Assist in the installation and configuration of new CCTV cameras and related security hardware
• Networking & Cabling Support.

1. Installation & Configuration:

• Install, configure, and upgrade CCTV
• Set up and configure workstations, ensuring all necessary software, drivers, and updates are installed.

1. Hardware Maintenance & Repairs:

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
• Ensure hardware is functioning optimally and perform repairs or replacements as needed.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Regularly inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV systems to ensure their optimal performance.
• Perform routine checks to ensure all cameras, Network, Switch configuration, Firewall, NAS & Video Door Device.

1. Network Connectivity & Support:

• Provide support for network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless connections.
• Assist with VPN setup and remote desktop configurations for off-site users.

Key Skills:

• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS) and desktop applications.
• Assist in the installation and configuration of new CCTV cameras and related security hardware.
• Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting, system imaging, and software deployment tools.
• Good communication skills to assist and train end-users.
• Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems efficiently.
