PSD East - Safety Officer 2

Position: Safety Officer

Work Experience: 8 - 10 years

Education: 

• A Bachelor degree in Engineering and should have obtained a consent to become safety officer under Factories Act
• Diploma in Industrial Safety is preferred.

Job Description:

• Support other department members to ensure safety in all aspects of operation in a manner to enhance 100% statutory compliance and safe working environment.     
• Respond to any safety related queries in a timely and accurate manner.    
• Communicate to stake holders both internal and external about the importance of safety in all modes of communication.
• Provide specialized technical advice on safety related issues.   
• Establish objectives that contribute to attainment of company and BU objective safely.   
• To manages the entire gamut of safety in the factory and coordinates with all departments across the factory with reference to safety and safe working environment.
• Some of the key responsibility being formulation of safety committees conduct safety audits, maintaining a safe working environment, conducting accident investigation scientifically, maintenance of various reports required under statutory regulations, Corporate regulations and periodically provide the same to the same management as appropriate, train & Organize employees to work safely. 
• Responsible for the management of safety PPE’s and issue and review of the personal protective equipment from time to time.
• Supports the facility ergonomics process.   Tracks and assists in ergonomic incident investigations.     Evaluate ergonomic incident trends, recommend preventive actions & Participates in team based injury review
• Assist facilities in identification of significant security risks, assists in design and implementation strategies and advocates programs to prevent and reduce loss of the organization’s assets.
• Anticipates process partner needs and gives high priority to process partner satisfaction and service.  Coordinates and manages preventive programs and services to protect against business disruption.
