Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter to join our team. The Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with metal structures, machinery, and other mechanical equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.

*Key Responsibilities:*

Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install machinery, mechanical systems, and metal structures as per technical drawings and blueprints.

Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

Problem-Solving: Diagnose mechanical issues, determine root causes, and perform troubleshooting and repairs as needed.

*Precision Work:* Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and fit materials with precision, ensuring alignment and structural integrity.

Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication tasks when required to join metal parts or structures.

*Quality Control* : Inspect completed installations and repairs to ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety regulations.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, welders, and other team members to complete projects efficiently.

Health and Safety: Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.

*Documentation* : Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and parts used.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams.

Experience: Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar mechanical role. Experience with welding and metalwork is an advantage.

Tools and Equipment: Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.

Physical Fitness: Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in confined spaces.

Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail to ensure proper assembly and repairs.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in mechanical environments.

Education and Certifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Trade or vocational school certification in fitting, mechanical engineering, or a related field (preferred)

Certification in welding or fabrication (a plus)

Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid, etc.) (preferred)

Working Conditions:

May be required to work in industrial environments, including outdoor settings, factories, and construction sites.

Exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and hazardous materials is possible.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety goggles, gloves, and steel-toed boots is required.
