Job Summary:

The Debt Recovery Agent will be responsible for contacting clients with outstanding debts and negotiating payment terms. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills to recover overdue amounts while maintaining positive relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contact Debtors: Reach out to customers via phone, email, and other communication channels to collect outstanding debts.
• Negotiate Payment Plans: Work with debtors to negotiate payment schedules that are feasible for them while ensuring timely recovery.
• Monitor Payments: Track and record payments made by customers to ensure all outstanding balances are being cleared as agreed.
• Resolve Disputes: Handle disputes or discrepancies raised by clients regarding outstanding balances or payment terms.
• Legal Coordination: Work with legal teams if debts escalate to legal actions, ensuring proper documentation and follow-ups.
• Prepare Reports: Maintain detailed records of all interactions with debtors and provide reports to management.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with debt collection laws and regulations (e.g., Fair Debt Collection Practices Act or relevant local laws).
• Customer Relationship: Maintain a professional and courteous approach when dealing with clients to preserve company reputation.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field is preferred).
• Proven experience in debt collection, customer service, or sales.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage stress and remain calm under pressure.
• Knowledge of legal regulations related to debt collection.
• Proficient in MS Office and debt collection software.
