Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Laboratory In-Charge to oversee all laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in handling various analytical instruments including FTIR, XRF,Ferrography, Column chromatography and equipment used for petroleum and chemical testing. This role will be critical in ensuring the quality and accuracy of laboratory results, as well as mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate all laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as FTIR and EDXRF and other advanced automated instruments including bench tests
• Conduct petroleum and chemical testing, ensuring precision and reliability of results.
• Develop and implement laboratory protocols and procedures.
• Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Analyze data and prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with other departments to support ongoing projects and objectives.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in laboratory technologies and practices.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years] of experience in a laboratory environment, with a focus on petroleum or chemical analysis.
• Proficient in using FTIR, EDXRF, Chromatographs and other analytical testing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership abilities and experience in team management.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
