• Candidates need to be fluent in their communication skills
• Ability to learn multiple aspects of counselling
• Ability to be self starters with a deep appetite of learning
• Understanding requirement of the customer
• Educate them about the solutions best suited their requirements
• Keep a strong but soft followup and maintain a good repo with the customers
• Final closure and after sales service
• CRM management with complete followup

A career counsellor profile is very different from a product sales and involves high degree of responsibility. It requires deep understanding of the subject so that a potential customer can value your inputs and trust you for a good career advice. So rather than a push sales counselling needs a soft engagement with potential clients with knowledge sharing.
