Job Description

Job Summary: The Event Sales Professional is responsible for generating sales and managing the planning and execution of events. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their needs, developing customized event proposals, and ensuring that events are executed seamlessly. The ideal candidate will have strong sales skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for events through networking, referrals, and other marketing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients to understand their event needs and requirements.
  • Create and present proposals and presentations to clients, highlighting the benefits of the company’s event services.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to close sales and achieve revenue targets.
  1. Event Planning and Management:

  • Coordinate with clients to understand their event objectives, budget, and logistical needs.
  • Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets, and staffing requirements.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of events, ensuring all aspects are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to secure necessary services and resources for events.
  • Address any issues or concerns that arise during the event planning process or on the event day.
  1. Customer Service:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients throughout the event planning and execution process.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality events that meet or exceed their expectations.
  1. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Track and report on sales performance, event outcomes, and client feedback.
  • Analyze event success and identify areas for improvement to enhance future events and sales strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, contracts, and financial transactions.
  1. Marketing and Promotion:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the company’s event services and attract potential clients.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in event sales, event planning, or a related role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Proficiency in event management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for event execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the [specific industry or type of events, e.g., corporate, wedding, non-profit] sector.
  • Certification in event planning or sales (e.g., Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP)).

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require occasional travel and the ability to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules
