Responsibilities

Overview
Lighthouse, KPMG’s Big Data, AI & Analytics practice has deep industry specialization and focuses on solution delivery for Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Visualization, and Process Analytics.

As a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, develop scalable data architectures, and ensure data integrity and availability.

Key Technical Skills

• Design and implement scalable data solutions on the Google Cloud Platform using services such as Google Cloud Storage, Google BigQuery, Google Dataflow, and Google Dataproc.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion processes, ETL workflows, and data transformation pipelines to efficiently move and process data from various sources.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and implement solutions to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
• Optimize data storage, processing, and querying performance on GCP to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data solutions.
• Implement data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to identify and resolve issues related to data quality, performance, and reliability.
• Document data architecture, design decisions, and technical specifications to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among team members.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data engineering and cloud computing.

• Analytical mind, problem-solving aptitude, attention to details and sense of ownership will be critical to succeed in this role.
• Experience of having worked as per scrum/agile framework and methodology and good communication skills.
• Experience of directly interacting with clients on technical tracks and ability to spot opportunities for business development.
• Insatiable appetite to learn and navigate through uncharted landscape of technology and business.

Qualifications

• Any Bachelors or Masters in Engineering.
• 5 plus years of experience is Google Cloud Platform is mandatory.
• GCP Professional Data Engineering certification would be a plus.
