Job Description

Market Access Manager

Department: Rare Disease & Public Care

Location: Kolkata

Company: Novo Nordisk India Pvt. Ltd

Your impact begins here

As Market Access Manager, you will strengthen how Novo Nordisk engages payers, shapes therapy access and manages key accounts across your market. You will connect commercial strategy with market access execution — identifying external opportunities, building account-based plans and helping secure formulary presence for our portfolio. By bringing together insight, cross-functional collaboration and practical action, you will help ensure that more people living with serious chronic diseases can access the treatments they need. Your impact starts today.

What you'll bring

  • A Master's degree, preferably within a quantitative or management discipline, from a well-recognised institute.
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Direct experience in at least two of the following areas: Pricing, Outcomes Research, Health Economics, Brand Value Communications, Advocacy Development, Payer Engagement, Market Access, Customer Insight Gathering, Customer Value Proposition Development, or Negotiation and Business Acquisition.
  • Experience building relationships and networks with healthcare decision-makers, including government bodies, payers, policy makers and key opinion leaders.
  • A track record of delivering business objectives in alignment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to analyse complex issues, apply strategic thinking and implement tactical plans.
  • Experience articulating complex market access topics clearly and persuasively to key decision-makers.
  • Commercial, business or medical experience at a managerial level, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Useful, but not essential:

- Exposure to areas beyond your direct experience listed above.

What you'll do

  • Shape therapy access strategies for new and existing launches by identifying market opportunities, planning account-based approaches and ensuring budget allocation for Novo Nordisk therapy areas.
  • Manage national key accounts — including ESI, Railway, CGHS and Army — driving aligned actions across commercial functions to strengthen product presence and formulary inclusion.
  • Coordinate with Sales Managers and Key Account Managers on state tenders, tracking product cycles across institutional accounts and providing regular updates on tender and account status.
  • Train and support Key Account Managers on account management practices, collaborating with Sales, Marketing and People & Organisation to build capability.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for therapy access knowledge, connecting global materials and up-to-date product information with local teams and institutional partners.
  • Support the institution team in filing tenders by providing accurate, current documentation and product information.

Who you'll work with

You will join a market access team within Rare Disease & Public Care, working at the intersection of commercial strategy and payer engagement. Your closest partners will be colleagues across Marketing, CMR, Sales, Key Account Management and medical functions within the affiliate.

Externally, you will build and maintain a broad network of stakeholders with influence on market access outcomes — including government bodies, payers, policy makers and key opinion leaders. You will also connect with regional and global market access colleagues to share learning and align on priorities.

The role is cross-functional by nature. You will bring different perspectives together, create clarity around account priorities and help teams move from insight to action across therapy areas.

What you can expect here

You will work in an environment where your expertise in payer engagement and account strategy directly shapes commercial outcomes. The role offers the opportunity to deepen your market access skills, collaborate across functions and contribute to work that expands treatment access for people living with serious chronic diseases.

You will be trusted to take ownership of your accounts and priorities, supported to develop new capabilities and encouraged to share your perspective. Cross-functional collaboration, honest feedback and a focus on results define how the team works together.

Start now

Your impact begins today. If you are ready to strengthen therapy access and help more people benefit from Novo Nordisk's portfolio, apply for the Market Access Manager role by 24 September 2026.
