JOB PURPOSE

• Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer I with expertise in SQL, Web Application Testing, and ETL Testing.
• The role involves designing, developing, and validating data pipelines, ensuring data integrity within Snowflake environments, and performing end-to-end testing across web applications and ETL workflows.
• The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality data solutions and seamless application performance

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design, develop, and optimize Snowflake data models, schemas, and data pipelines.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and performance tuning.
• Perform ETL testing including validation of data mappings, transformations, and data integrity across source and target systems.
• Develop and execute test cases for web applications including UI, API, and backend validation.
• Validate data pipelines including ingestion, transformation, and loading processes in Snowflake.
• Perform regression, functional, integration, and system testing for applications and data workflows.
• Automate testing workflows using tools and scripting for data and application validation.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to understand requirements and define testing strategy.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report defects with clear root cause analysis and resolution guidance.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness across all layers of the application and data platform.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline integration for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Create and maintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, and test reports.

QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum relevant experience – 2+ years
• Preferred total experience – 4+ years
• 3+ years of experience in Snowflake development, SQL programming, and data testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake features including stages, tasks, streams, and data sharing.
• Proficiency in advanced SQL including joins, window functions, CTEs, and query optimization.
• Experience in ETL testing and validating complex data transformations.
• Experience in web application testing including UI and API validation.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills for identifying data and application issues.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Experience with data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or DBT.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience in test automation using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for automation.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Domain knowledge in healthcare, finance, or retail industries.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
