Job & Division Summary:
The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing simple components and fixtures in SolidWorks, converting 2D AutoCAD drawings into accurate 3D SolidWorks models and assemblies, managing engineering data through SolidWorks PDM, and supporting ECO/ECR release processes. The role requires close collaboration with global engineering teams to create, revise, and release engineering documentation while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Design simple components and fixtures in 3D SolidWorks.
- Convert 2D AutoCAD drawings into 3D SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings.
- Conduct simple engineering calculations, as required
- Manage CAD data, revisions, and workflows using SolidWorks PDM.
- Execute ECR/ECO activities and support engineering release processes.
- Validate drawings, BOMs, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product updates and documentation improvements.
Mandatory Skills
- 3–6 years of Mechanical Design/CAD Engineering experience with strong SolidWorks expertise.
- Proficient in AutoCAD-to-3D conversion, SolidWorks PDM, and document control.
- Experience with ECO/ECR processes, BOM management, and engineering releases.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5), manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 (preferred) and experience working with global engineering teams
Desired skills:
- Experience with industrial equipment, pumps, compressors, or engineered products.
- Exposure to ERP/PLM systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, casting, and sheet metal.
Basic Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3 - 6 years of relevant experience in CAD conversion, 3D modeling, and engineering documentation.
